Setting Goals for Summer
While summer is a great time to relax and recharge, it’s always a good idea to set a few goals. Today, we’re going to talk about why goals are important and give you some tips to set your own summertime goals!
Why Goal-setting Matters
At Yoli, we’re big believers in the importance of setting goals because they’re a key part of transforming your life. If you don’t have a concrete idea of what you want to accomplish, it’s hard to know what actions you should take! But once you’ve set a goal or two, you can plan out how to reach them.
Goals also provide momentum. When you start seeing progress, you’ll be excited and driven to keep going. You’ll feel more motivated with every step you take toward your goal. And then once you’ve reached it, you’ll want to find a new height to reach toward, creating more and more momentum. A simple goal or two can be the catalyst to a complete transformation!

If you’re at your goal weight, set some other health goals. You could set a goal to get eight hours of sleep each night. You could prioritize eating vegetables with each meal. You could try cooking more healthy meals at home, drinking more water, or any other health goals that you’d like to tackle this summer.
You could also try shaking up your workout routine. If you usually do cardio, add in a couple of strength-training sessions during the week. If you lift weights, try a yoga session or two. You could take a dance class, take up hiking, join a boxing gym, go for a swim, or any other fun fitness routine that catches your eye. You may even find a new favorite way to work out!
Of course, while you should always remember to take care of your health, summer is a great time to set some goals that aren’t something you usually focus on. For example, if you don’t read much, setting a goal to read at least fifteen minutes every day can help you make it more of a habit. You may enjoy taking up a new hobby, such as painting, playing chess, or learning to play an instrument. Get creative and use summer as an opportunity to try some new things!
